Advanced Miniature Painting
To Be Announced
Dates: 25th Sept - 27th Sept
Total Duration: 3 days
Timing: 12:00 - 18:00 (30 min lunch break)
Course Fee: XXX GBP
Level: Intermediate/Advanced
This 3-day course offers a deeper, more personal exploration of Indian, Mughal and Persian miniature painting. Unlike the intermediate course, you'll design your own composition using your own imagery, working towards a more professional level of finish with an emphasis on fine brushwork and detail. Ideas for your composition might include illustrating a personal story or piece of poetry, or designing your own book cover or card.
This course is also well suited to those looking for a meditative, focused practice; the slow, precise nature of fine miniature work encourages a calm, absorbed state of mind. You'll work more independently throughout, with guidance from the teacher as needed.
Working in small groups of 6-8, this course is suitable for students who have completed the intermediate course, or who have a strong foundation in fine art, illustration, or decorative arts.
Bring your own packed lunch for our 45-minute lunch break, refreshments will be provided.
By the end of the course, you will learn how to:
-
Translate your own idea, story, or piece of poetry into a composition
-
Refine your fine brushwork using more advanced brush techniques
-
Prepare a colour palette using high-end natural pigments and artist-quality watercolours
-
Finish your painting with an even finer, more detailed level of brushwork
-
Work towards a more professional level of finish
All materials will be provided and shared amongst students, you'll take your finished work home in a tote bag.
